The legend of 'The Bisley Boy' goes like this: around 1544 whilst visiting Overcourt in Bisley, the young Princess Elizabeth rapidly fell ill and died. Dec 12, 2018 · There wasn’t a single girl in Bisley that had flame-red hair or with a similar physique to Elizabeth, however there was one candidate: a boy called Neville. Whilst there, she caught a fever and died. Bram went on to research the story extensively, and wrote about it in his 1910 book, Famous Imposters. The boy donned a wig and the dress of his now late friend, and was presented by Lady Ashley and Sir Parry as princess Elizabeth.
